So when I discovered a new feature on Instagram yesterday, that lets you create Instagram Reels from the content you already have in your highlights, I was all over it!
In a couple of minutes, I produced THIS REEL using my “Freebies” Highlight.
Read on to see how you can get more eyes on your Instagram stories content by converting it into a Reel…
Converting an Instagram Stories Highlight into a Reel is very simple. Here’s how to do it:
- Visit your profile and select the highlight you want to turn into a Reel.
2. Click on More and choose “Convert to Reel”
3. Choose the audio you would like to use and Instagram syncs the story to the music.
4. Now edit your Reel. Change clip durations, add new clips from your camera roll, and remove any unwanted clips.
5. Once you’re happy with your clip selection, select “Done.”
6. At this stage, you can add captions, text, gifs or use the draw tool to embellish your reel if you wish.
7. Now add a cover photo (make sure it will display neatly when cropped to a square when you share to your grid. Turn “Allow share to feed” on. Write your caption (including hashtags), add your location.
8. Post! Share to your grid and share to your stories to get even more eyes on your work.
Like all social media platforms, Instagram rolls out new features in stages. So if you can’t see this yet on your app, keep checking back.
